Trustee Fund Fundraiser

Our 2 major fundraising/social events were cancelled due to Covid-19 precautions in 2020.  We hope to be able to hold our annual Walk-a-thon and Chili feed again in 2021, or perhaps brainstorm new ideas to gather safely for fellowship. Meanwhile, we  have an opportunity for members and GA groups to contribute to the Area 8A Trustee fund through a donation. Please read the attached flyer for details.  Thank You!

GA /Gam-Anon Speakers still needed! Our stories of recovery are powerful and essential. Stories show newcomers that a beautiful new life is possible. And, stories are a way of showing family and friends of compulsive gamblers that change is possible when working a program of recovery, one day at a time.  Showing others what GA has done for you will be a boost to your recovery, and all those listening, too. If you are able to volunteer or want more information contact us via: mn.ga.webweaver@gmail.com

Daily phone meetings that are sponsored by local GA groups, as well as International GA Conference call meetings are listed HERE in the Find a Meeting Directory. Earlier this year, in an effort to help those members whose meetings have been temporarily suspended as a result of the COVID-19 virus, the GA Board of Trustees Telephone Conference Call Committee expanded the original approved Wednesday night meeting to include options every night of the week. If you have questions about participating in a phone meeting or questions on connecting to this free conference call platform, please contact mn.ga.webweaver@gmail.com   or call hotline at  1-855-222-5542

Become part of the solution and volunteer your time to the Telephone Conference Call . The need for volunteers continues to be crucial during this health crisis! Contact our local website email if you are  able to volunteer or reach out to  telephoneconferencemeeting@gmail.com.

Volunteer for the Minnesota GA Hotline

This is an excellent service opportunity! Commit a few hours a week to helping compulsive gamblers on the phone. Click here for a volunteer sign-up and information sheet. Thank you for your service!

Wanted: Your Experience, Strength, & Hope!

Sharing stories of our addiction and recovery are vital for those in all stages of recovery - newcomers and old-timers alike. GA members are encouraged to speak of their personal journeys, and share their experience, strength, and hope.

Choose from these excellent opportunities:

1. Volunteers are needed to speak the first Saturday of each month at the St. Alban's speaker meeting.

2. Volunteers are needed to speak at the South-of-the-River speaker meeting. That speaker meeting is the third Saturday of January, March, May, July, September, and November. Send an email to mn.ga.webweaver@gmail.com to sign up!

3. The Public Relations Committee receives requests from treatment centers in the metro area, and organizes GA members to speak at those facilities. If you have at least six months of clean time, you can speak! If you have less than six months, you can still speak if you bring your sponsor with you.

The Public Relations Committee holds workshops to help people tell their story. Keep an eye on this space for a future workshop. And, click here for a flyer with more details!

Get Involved and Be Of Service!

Gamblers Anonymous exists because thousands of recovering gamblers have given countless hours of service. Setting up rooms, leading meetings, and cleaning up after, are usually the first service roles that we perform. But as we grow in recovery, more service opportunities present themselves. Each is a way to strengthen our GA community, and a way to practice Step 12.  Click here for a flyer with  descriptions of several exciting and fulfilling service opportunities available. Send questions and interest to mn.ga.webweaver@gmail.com
