Saturday February 7, 2026: Intergroup Meeting (Zoom) @ 3:00 pm
Intergroup is (usually) a monthly meeting when GA group representatives share information with each other, as well as discuss upcoming events and needs in the Minnesota GA fellowship. Any GA member is welcome to attend, and every GA group in Area 8A can send a representative to vote on the issues. If your GA home group does not currently have an Intergroup representative, please contact [email protected] to find out how your group can participate. The next Intergroup meeting will be on Saturday February 7, 2026 at 3:00 pm. The meeting will be held by Zoom:
Saturday Night Speaker Meeting @ St. Alban’s in Edina
Make your way to the Saturday Night Speaker Meeting at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Edina! The event is (usually) held the first Saturday of each month, and is sponsored by various GA groups in the Area.
Each meeting begins with selected readings from GA and Gam-Anon literature, then one or more speakers share their stories of experience, strength, and hope. The speaker meeting is open to all GA members, Gam-Anon members, friends, family, and anyone that wants to learn more about Gamblers Anonymous and recovery. The schedule for upcoming months is:

Sunday February 22, 2026: Pinning & Potluck @ Nokomis (Minneapolis) GA
Mark your calendars, and spread the word! The Sunday Nokomis (Minneapolis) GA group (formerly known as the Minneapolis Fairview GA group) will celebrate a big milestone (40 years!). The potluck will begin at 6:30 pm (please bring a dish to share) and a meeting with a pinning will follow at 7:00 pm.
Saturday March 7, 2026: 30th Annual Gam-Anon Craft & Bake Sale
It’s back! One of the most beloved traditions in Area 8A - the Gam-Anon Craft & Bake Sale - will be held on Saturday March 7, right before the monthly speaker meeting at St. Alban’s. The event begins at 6:00 pm, and the speaker meeting follows at 7:30. The location is St. Alban’s Episcopal Church; 6716 Gleason Road; Edina, MN.
Would you like to contribute to the event? Bake your favorite cookies or bars, and package them in 1/2 dozen or 1 dozen amounts. Or, make something crafty! (Don’t put prices on the baked goods, but it’s ok to price the craft items.) Show up a few minutes before 6:00 so that the Gam-Anon crew can price the snacks. Then shop, enjoy the fellowship, and stay for another excellent speaker meeting.
Saturday March 28, 2026: Save the Date! 3rd Annual Simple Spring GA-thering
Save the date, and spread the word! The 3rd annual Simple Spring GA-thering will be held on Saturday March 28, 2026. The Tuesday Buffalo GA and Wednesday St. Paul - Recovery Church GA groups are hosting this event. This day-long event will be held at The Recovery Church; 253 State Street South; St. Paul. Doors open at 8:30, and the event begins at 9:00 am.
Lunch will be provided, as well as water and coffee. A $10 donation is suggested to cover the cost, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Step Twelve Opportunity: Carry the Message of Hope
There’s an ongoing effort to carry the message of hope to still-suffering compulsive gamblers in both a metro-area hospital, and a suburban correctional facility. Speakers are needed! This is an excellent way to practice the 12th Step of our Recovery program. Click here for more details, and volunteer your time and talents.
GA Literature Sales, Digital Options, & Free Downloads!
If you need Blue Books, key tags, medallions, or other literature, and you want to save money on shipping, you can purchase items at the Saturday Night Speaker Meeting at St. Alban’s in Edina. The literature sales table will be open for business at 6:30 pm. Bring cash or a check to purchase the literature.
And, several pieces of literature are now available for downloading from the GamblersAnonymous.org website. The yellow Combo Book, Suggestions for Coping With Urges to Gamble, and workbooks for the Recovery and Unity Steps are all available for downloading right here. These downloads are free, for personal use only. It’s a great way to take a few pieces of literature with you when you’re on the move.
If you have an e-reader (e.g. Kindle or Nook), the Combo Book and A Day at a Time book are available for purchase through Amazon or Barnes & Noble. You can also download the Kindle or Nook app onto your smartphone and access those two pieces.
Keep your literature close at hand, read it often, and spread the word about these excellent options!

The Saturday Night Speaker Meeting at St. Alban's in Edina is an important and cherished part of our Area 8A GA Fellowship. Geno T., Diane A., and Tom S. are leading efforts to strengthen connections between this speaker meeting and individual GA groups in our Area. Groups are being asked to sponsor a monthly speaker meeting. Sponsoring includes:
**Provide a speaker for a 30-40 minute share, or two speakers for shorter times. Speakers should have a minimum of 1 year of abstinence. **Provide someone to read the Daily Reflection and talk about the reflection for 5 minutes **Choose readers for GA & Gam-Anon literature **Arrive early to help set up the room and make coffee **Bring treats **Help clean up after the meeting
Become a Lifeliner: Support the International Service Office (ISO) of GA!
The International Service Office (ISO) of Gamblers Anonymous performs many essential functions to support our fellowship. ISO sends out starter kits to new GA groups around the world, as well as prison kits to those that are incarcerated and seeking recovery. ISO manages the inventory of our GA literature, maintains a directory of international meetings, and answers countless questions from members.

This is an excellent Step 12 service opportunity! Sign up for time blocks to answer the Minnesota GA hotline. Calls are forwarded right to your phone, so you can perform this service work right in your own home. You can pick the time slots that you’re available to receive calls.
